Course contents

Enrolling on this course, you’ll begin with the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping which compromises of two units:

• Introduction to Bookkeeping (IBTK)
• Principles of Bookkeeping Controls (POBC)

Once you pass both of these exams, you’ll achieve your the first certificate!

Progressing onto the AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping will develop your knowledge and understanding gained in the L2 certificate. You’ll delve into preparing financial statements and explore topics such as accruals/prepayments, depreciation and end of year adjustments. In addition to this, you will also study core tax principles such as Value Added Tax (VAT) and payroll principles. Completion of this certificate requires you to pass two units:

• Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS)
• Tax Processes for Businesses (TPFB)

Once you have passed both the AAT Level 2 and Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping, you will be able to apply for an AAT bookkeeping membership. This includes putting the designatory letters AATQB by your name.
