ACCA Strategic Professional
The second of the fundamental modules this follows the Applied Knowledge.
This is the final level of ACCA. It covers the advanced techniques, skills and professional ethics required of an accountant operating at a senior level.
It consists of six subjects from Essentials and Options. You will need to sit and pass four of these exams to compete this level.
ACCA advise that you attempt their Ethics and Professional Skills module before you sit any exams on the Strategic Professional level.
There is a certain amount of assumed knowledge from the Applied Skills level at this level, so you may benefit from refreshing your knowledge of this level ahead of studying the Strategic Professional level.
The entry requirements for the level:
• Completion of the Applied knowledge and Applied skills level
• Been awarded exemptions from Applied knowledge and/or applied skills having completed the remining units.
Ethics and professional skills
Compulsory for ACCA members and helps develop a good understanding of ethics. Covers real ife situations to ensure you develop the appropriate ethical and professional skills. ACCA recommend that you pass this before studying other subjects at this level.
Essentials:
You’ll learn about accounting in the business environment and develop the practical skills and techniques needed to be an accountant.
Strategic Business Leader (SBL)
This unit uses scenarios that ma y occur in your working life, the case study enables you to incorporate your technical, ethical and professional skills to create a solution that will use these skills to complete your response. You will have access to background information and exhibits relating to the case study ahead of the exam.

Assessed by a case study exam that is designed to mirror the workplace. A paper-based exam in March, June, September and December.
Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)
This unit enables you to use professional judgement and incorporates the development of communication skills needed to report the implications of transactions and reporting differences to shareholders and other stakeholders.
A paper-based exam in March, June, September and December.
You must choose two options:
Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
You’ll practice the professional judgment expected of a senior financial executive in taking or recommending decisions relating to the financial management of an organisation in both private and public sectors

Advanced Performance Management (APM)
You’ll develop the skills and knowledge needed to apply strategic management accounting techniques in business contexts.

Advanced Taxation (ATX)
In this unit you’ll learn how to provide relevant information and advice to individuals and businesses.
• Apply national tax laws to the finances of individuals and businesses
• Exercise professional judgement in relation to tax frameworks
A paper-based exam in March, June, September and December.
Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)
It is recommended that this unit is studied at the same time or after studying SBR.
In this unit you’ll:
• Analyse, evaluate and draw conclusions on assurance engagements
• Analyse, evaluate and draw conclusions on audit and assurance issues
• Look at the best practise and current developments for audit and assurance
