CIMA Professional Qualification
This qualification consists of three learning pillars that span the three levels of this qualification.
The pillars are interlinked to provide a consistent body of knowledge and are designed to cover a range of business areas that support the finance function.
The Enterprise pillar
Focuses on the finance function and how it interacts with the organisation using data and technology. It looks at different business models and the management of people and projects to achieve the goals of the organisation.
The Performance Pillar
Uses the tools and techniques of management accounting and risk management to ensure that strategy is realistic and to monitor its implementation. Uses an understanding of costs to construct budgets, make decision about process and capital expenditure, manage costs and manage performance.
The Financial Pillar
Focuses on the financial accounting and reporting obligations of an organisation. Includes an understanding of regulatory framework and external reporting requirements. Develops the ability to construct and evaluate complex financial statements to show the financial position and performance of the organisation. Also covers the fundamentals of business taxation together with the tax implications of financing decisions. It links the formulation of financial strategy with the organisational strategy covered in the enterprise pillar and the assessing of risk overed in the performance pillar.
